The MA World Convention is the annual recovery and social gathering for all of Marijuana Anonymous. The Convention includes workshops, keynote speakers, MA meetings, a dance, and a chance to fellowship with members from across the land. It’s a giant sober party and a great opportunity for growth in recovery and personal connections.
The 2024 MA World Convention will take place across three days on Labor Day weekend from Friday August 30th through Sunday September 1st, 2024.
The event will be hosted at the DoubleTree San Francisco Airport conveniently located within minutes of San Francisco International Airport in Burlingame, CA. We have secured a block of hotel rooms starting at $129/night for a double room, including breakfast. We will announce more information about the host hotel including booking information in March. We strongly advise against booking your own hotel accommodations at this time.
We hope to open hotel booking in March and convention registration in April.
Convention activities will begin in the afternoon of August 30th and conclude in the afternoon on September 1st. There will also be optional pre and post convention activities planned on August 29th and September 2nd in and around San Francisco. For those who wish to stay longer in San Francisco, discounted room rates at the host hotel will be available to reserve from August 27th through September 3rd.
The most convenient airport with a free shuttle to the host hotel is San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
Alternative airports are Oakland International Airport (OAK) and San Jose International Airport (SJC). It is possible to take BART (subway) from OAK to SFO and then transfer to the hotel shuttle to the host hotel. The trip from OAK to the host hotel may take up to two hours on public transit. You may also choose to fly into SJC but public transportation is more difficult and it is recommended that people flying into SJC consider renting a car.
We do not currently have cost information but hope to keep costs similar to previous conventions.Registration cost (excluding Saturday’s banquet dinner) will likely be between $150-$175. Registration will include three days of programming, meals, and access to a hospitality suite with snacks/coffee/tea. There will be an additional optional cost for a banquet dinner on Saturday August 31st.
On-site parking will be free for all registered attendees.
We will make every effort to price the registration as affordably as possible. Information about a scholarship program will be announced when registration opens. There will also be opportunities to connect with other attendees to share hotel rooms to save on lodging and the ability to connect with local MA fellows in the SF Bay Area who may offer accommodations at their homes.
